ActionStudio.org was founded in September 2001 by Jeff Reifman. Jeff believes that the most effective way to create social change is to provide technological infrastructure to support it.
Jeff has a proven management track record in running start-up organizations successfully. He is also firmly grounded in the activism and non-profit communities.
In 1991, Jeff joined Microsoft Corporation as a Group Program Manager where he helped launch MSNBC.com and Shop.Microsoft.com during his eight year tenure.
While still at Microsoft in 1997, Jeff founded Habitat Espresso in Seattle and later purchased the Four Angels Café, operating them as community-centered businesses that donated their profits to regional charities. These business efforts received national attention and were featured on "NBC Nightly News," "The Lehrer News Hour," "Good Morning America" and many local Seattle stations and newspapers.
In 1999, Jeff left Microsoft, raising $2 million in venture capital to found GiftSpot.com, an electronic gift certificate company. GiftSpot.com was later acquired by GiftCertificates.com, the leader in the online gift certificate market.
